Many years ago one of our elderly residents of our residential care home watching a young care provider struggle with a seemingly impossible situation, suggested "You just gotta laugh".  That care provider was me, and the elderly resident who offered those wise words probably sensed I was was about at the end of my rope.   It helped me smile and soon the situation was under control.

Someone once said, "There is nothing beautiful about growning old".  Now we could debate the philosophical side of that all day.  The truth is anyone dealing with an elderly loved one knows, it usually isn't pretty much, tries your patience beyond the level of comprehension, is expensive, tests your relationship with friends and family, not to mention your bossanyone nodding your head yet?  Did I mention STRESS??? Need I continue? Ok, so where is Nanci going with this?  This is all starting to sound a little depressing.

Ah, you just arrived at my point.  We all probably need an other chance to smile, especially those of us who are responsible for our loved ones care.  Perhaps you may have noticed that our site is not all serious all the time by design .  Please, please don't take our attempt to lighten your burden with a little humor as being disrespectful of our elderly population.  We love them dearly.  Gee, this is starting to sound like a disclaimer you see on a cereal box warning you not to eat the cardboard box as it could kill you.  Remember, you"gotta laugh" , well at the very least, it can't hurt.

As Always,

Nanci  Laughing
