Beach and Tennis Club
Categories: General | Tags: Lake Forest, Beach And Tennis Club
In talking with a family member the other day about activities at The Royal Inn, I mentioned that our elderly residents enjoy free membership to The Lake Forest Beach and Tennis Club of Lake Forest, just up the street from our homes. She laughed and said "my mom can.t swim and probably couldn.t do anything there.
I retold a story of a wonderful resident who was suffering from parkinsons. In his prime he had been a tennis instructor and his passion was the game of tennis. Now in his 80's he could no longer walk due to the advancing of the disease but he went to the club twice a week...... with his two daughters, who played. He sat at the courts edge, calling lines, throwing out the balls and keeping score all the while encouraging his daughters and offering them tips on playing better. He was as close to the game he loved, with the people he held most dear. You never saw a bigger smile on a persons face when he came home from "playing tennis" ! There are Plenty of other activities and events like wine tasting, jazz night, and comedy night and many others..... one might just might be your, "playing tennis".
Any questions about the Club just call or email me,
Nanci

along with full hookups and large level sites, clean reoorstms ..I would like an enclosed dog run {so the dog can be off leash, under my supervision of course} heated pool, with adult hours.. planned get togethers, we camped over Thanksgiving, the camp ground supplied the Turkeys and the campers brought everything else..ice cream socials, picnic tables, wi fi if I am staying for a week or so..A large rec room with good acoustics where groups can gather no tennis courts, mini golf etc..I very seldom ever use a camp store..and they are a lot of work..but most of all friendly, helpful hosts..Rivers, lakes, ocean or mts. are all good places for a camp ground..also are you having mainly an overnight place with the basics..or planing on a place people come to for a week or more?? Each would have their own amenities..If you elect to have year rounders {Permanent} please put them in their own area..I hate being put next to a live in, and I'm sure they don't like all the visitors going in and out next door to them all the time..
