Who runs The Royal Inns?

We are locally owned and operated by the Shelly Family. Click on the About Us tab to learn more about the Shelly Family and The Royal Inns Residential Care Living.

If the Royal Inns do not have what I need, can you help me find a home that does?

Absolutely! We have over 20 years worth of experience and in depth knowledge of the Orange County residential care homes. We will find the home that perfectly matches your needs, at no cost to you.

How many rooms are there?

We have two homes, each with six rooms.  There are a total of twelve rooms that we serve.

If I need to go to the doctor, who will take me?

We will. We can make your appointments for you for the doctor or for any test you may need, and arrange transportation. A visiting doctor is also available. 

Will you just drop me off at the doctor and come get me later?

We can send an attendant with you to help you as you need. If the doctor orders any new prescriptions or treatments, we assist you in getting these.

Can I have therapy or rehabilitation treatments at The Royal Inns location?

Yes, we work with a number of visiting nurse services that will see to your needs.  We can also arrange transportation to drive you to your prescribed rehabilitation center, and/or where you or your doctor prefers.

Do you accept residents who are on oxygen?

Yes, at The Royal Inns we are very familiar with the needs of an oxygen patient. It is standard procedure that every Friday we even check the oxygen supply of our residents using oxygen to be sure they don’t ever run out.

What types of medical conditions can you provide care for?

We are able to provide care to almost any medical condition.  If you have specific questions about how we could provide care for your, or your loved one’s, medical needs, please contact us.

I have Parkinson’s. Can I live at The Royal Inns?

Yes, we are familiar with this disease and can be of assistance to a Parkinson’s resident and their family.

Do you accept Alzheimer’s residents?

It depends - these are taken on a case by case basis. With the family, we will evaluate the needs and determine if the resident would benefit from this placement, and also be suitable for us.

Can you handle a blind or deaf resident?

Yes, we are fully equipped and able to meet the needs of a blind, sight challenged, or hearing impaired resident.

Do you provide Respite Care at The Royal Inns Residential Living?

Yes, we will be happy to arrange the care your loved one needs.

May I bring my dog or cat with me when I move to The Royal Inns?

Yes, it's possible. It is a proven fact that animals can be good companions and are a positive therapy for all of us.

Do I have to go to the dining room for meals or can I just eat in my room?

You are free to eat your own meal in your room occasionally. All you need to do is just let us know.

Will anyone remind me to come to meals, take a bath, or change clothes?

Absolutely, at The Royal Inns we do all of that and more. We work tirelessly to ensure that all of our residents are completely cared for and comfortable. 

Who does my laundry?

At The Royal Inns we do provide full laundry and linen service.  We will do all of your laundry, part of it, or none of it. It is your choice. We have a large laundry room in each home for resident use. We provide the detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets at no extra charge.

I want to be able to use the internet. Is that possible at The Royal Inns?

Yes -  every room is wired for internet, cable TV, and a telephone. 

How much selection is there in the meals prepared at The Royal Inns?

We offer a wide selection of meals throughout the entire week. We are always trying to improve our menus. If you have a favorite dish or recipe, bring it with you and we will see if it can be prepared for everyone.

Do you ever offer snacks between meal times to your residents?

Yes, we have a variety of snacks available through out the day. Usually there are snacks available to residents mid-morning, mid-afternoon and in the later evening.

Can I buy groceries and drinks for my room to use anytime I want?

Yes, that is not a problem. We will even take you to the store.

Can I drink alcohol at The Royal Inns Residences?

Yes. We do not serve beer, wine,  or alcohol. However, you are free to have a beer or drink as long as it is in moderation.  If your doctor has prohibited you from using alcohol we will expect you to abide accordingly.

Can I bring my own furniture to decorate my new room?

Yes, you can bring your own bed, chest, pictures, etc. However - if you do not want to bring your own furniture - all our rooms are fully furnished.

Can I have a flower or vegetable garden at The Royal Inns?

You bet! You can garden to your heart's delight and we will furnish the plants, seeds, water, etc. We will even use any vegetables you want to pass on to our kitchen.

May I bring car or truck when I move to Royal Inns?

Yes, we have ample parking for your vehicle and you are free to use it anytime you want.

Are there any restrictions on children or visitors at The Royal Inns Residential Care Living?

No, we love visitors and welcome them at any time. However, small children must be in the care of an adult.

Can I get my hair fixed or a hair cut at The Royal Inns Residences?

Yes indeed. We have a great visiting beautician and barber at The Royal Inns.

I heard you take residents on trips?

We love outings with our residents. And the buffet lunch is on us!

Is the building at The Royal Inns Residential Care protected by fire alarms or sprinklers systems in case of fire?

Both residential homes at The Royal Inns have been built to the fire code specs of the City and State. There are audible and visual alarms throughout the building and in both of the residences.

The alarms are tested frequently and our staff is trained on evacuation procedures in case of any emergency.
